With the last week’s League of Legends Patch 11.16 changes preview detailing a bunch of champions receiving nerfs and bans, one has been left out.

Surrender at 20 mod Spideraxe detailed extensive Karma changes today that are being tested on League‘s PBE, claiming the nerfs are aimed at “reducing some of her pro skew.”

Current PBE Karma changes

If the changes hit the live servers, Karma will lose the ability to reduce her R cooldown with auto-attacks. The part of her Mantra regarding her abilities reducing the cooldown is changed to flat five seconds rather than 2/3.5/5.

There are some changes to her kit as well, here’s the rundown:

Q: – Mana cost reduced to 45 from 55
– CD changed to 9 to 5 from 8 to 6
– base damage reduced to 70 to 270 from 90 to 270
– RQ bonus base damage increased to 40 to 220 from 25 to 175

E: – MS reduced to 40% from 40 to 60%
– Shield increased to 80 to 260 from 80 to 240
E cont: – RE now only grants 30% of MS from the primary target, so only 12% MS to secondary targets now.

These adjustments appear to make Karma more accessible to all players while taking away some of her power when in the hands of top-tier players. Her early game and team coordination will take a hit, but players will be rewarded for landing powerful nukes.

Since Karma didn’t appear in last week’s patch preview, it’s highly possible that her changes will be delayed to another update in order to gather better data from the PBE.

Note that the patch 11.16 is going to ship one week later due to Riot’s week-long break, pushing the release date to August 11.
