LCK Summer 2022 is the 16th LCK season, 10 teams compete to become the champion of Korea. With the LCK 2022 Summer season almost meeting its halfway mark, it’s time to take a look at the teams that are competing. This year’s season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and unpredictable in recent memory, with a number of strong teams looking to make a run at the title. Here’s a look at some of the teams that will are competing in the LCK this summer.

Brion Esports

Brion Esports is a South Korean League of Legends gaming organization. The team was founded in late 2018, and consists of some of the best players in South Korea. They are currently competing in the LCK, one of the most competitive leagues in the world. The team is led by the head coach Edgar, an acclaimed Korean player. Brion Esports is currently the last place on the standings and they will be hard-pressed to create any meaningful results.

DAMWON GAMING

DAMWON GAMING is a professional South Korean League of Legends organization. The team was founded in 2017 and competes in the LCK, the top LoL league in South Korea. DAMWON GAMING is one of the most successful organizations in South Korea, with several championship titles under its belt. They are currently 4th in the standings and might be looking to overthrow SANDBOX Gaming from the podium. The DAMWON GAMING lineup is:

DRX

DRX is a professional South Korean League of Legends gaming organization. The team was founded in early 2018 by former SK Telecom T1 support player, Bae “Bang” Jun-sik. Their former names were KING-ZONE DragonX and DragonX. They are currently 5th on the rankings.

Freecs

The Freecs (formerly known as the Samsung Galaxy Falcons) is a South Korean League of Legends gaming organization. The team was formed in late 2015, and competed in many LCK tournaments, coming 4th-6th in the standings. The Freecs are known for their aggressive playstyle, and often take early leads in games. However, they have been known to make comebacks, even when they are behind in the early game. They are currently 6th in the standings. The team currently consists of:

Top – Kiin

Jungler – Ellim

Middle – FATE

Bot – Teddy

Support – Hoit

Gen.G

Gen.G is one of the most successful League of Legends organizations in the world. The team has competed in some of the biggest tournaments and won a number of championships.

The team was founded in 2017 as a merger between two South Korean teams, Samsung Galaxy and Ozone. The new organization quickly became one of the best in the world, winning the 2017 World Championship. Since then, Gen.G has continued to be a top team in the LCK, the South Korean professional League of Legends league.

The team has placed top 3 in a lot of LCK tournaments in the past. The team is also one of the favorites to win the 2022 LCK Summer split. Some of the team’s previous star players include Life, Rascal, and Bdd. With a strong history and some of the best players in the world, Gen.G is always a team to watch out for in any tournament. They are currently placed firmly as the first on the podium. Their current players include:

Middle – Chovy

Bot –  Ruler

Hanwha Life Esports

Hanwha Life Esports, formerly known as ROX Tigers, is a South Korean League of Legends organization. The team was founded in 2018. The organization has teams competing in League of Legends, Overwatch, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and Clash Royale.

The League of Legends team is the most successful. The team placed 3rd in the LCK Spring of 2021. The team also placed 5th-8th in the 2021 World Championship. They are currently placed 9th on the roster, with many losses and a hard place to climb back up during the season. Their roster consists of:

Jungler – OnFleek

Middle – Karis

Bot – SamD

Support – Vsta

KT Rolster

KT Rolster is a South Korean League of Legends gaming organization. The team was founded in 2003 as a StarCraft: Brood War team. In 2010, they merged with the StarTale team and became a professional team for League of Legends. KT Rolster is one of the most successful teams in South Korea, having won the LCK many times.

KT Rolster has a long-standing rivalry with SK Telecom T1. The two teams have met in the LCK finals five times, with KT Rolster winning three of those series. They are currently 7th in the standings.

Nongshim Redforce

Nongshim Redforce is a professional South Korean League of Legends team that is competing in the 2022 LCK Summer tournament. The team was founded in 2019 and is based in Seoul, South Korea. Nongshim Redforce is a part of the Nongshim Esports organization, which also has teams competing in various other esports titles.

The team has had some rough games so far, as they are only 8th in the tournament. Their roster includes:

Middle – Bdd

Bot – Ghost

Support – Effort

SANDBOX Gaming

SANDBOX Gaming (also known as Liiv Sandbox) is a South Korean League of Legends gaming organization. The team was founded in December of 2018. The organization is one of the newest in the LCK, but they have already made a name for themselves with their unique playstyle, which has landed them 3rd in the tournament so far.

The team has had a few rocky last years, as they have not managed to climb to the podium in the last two years. The team is looking to improve its performance in 2022. Their current roster is:

Top –  Dove

Jungler – Croco

Middle – Clozer

Bot –  Prince

Support – Kael

T1

T1 is a South Korean League of Legends gaming organization founded in 2014. They are one of the most successful teams in the world, having won multiple world championships. The organization also houses some of the most popular players in the scene, such as Faker and Teddy.

T1 is always a team to watch out for in any tournament they participate in, and they will be looking to take home another trophy this season.

The team has had a very good LCK 2022 Summer so far, as they are currently placed 2nd in the standings, right behind Gen.G. Their current roster is:

Middle – Faker

Bot –  Gumayusi

Support – Keria
